I teach the Teen Producers Project: Intro to Filmmaking class provided by the Media Arts Center San Diego. It’s a 12 week course meeting once a week where I mentor and guide around 10 students each class session in making documentaries and learning about filmmaking.

I wrote and directed this short dark comedy in 2020 while still in school for my senior project. It since has been an official selection at several film festivals and won awards.

The conditions were less than ideal during filming (COVID had hit the US only a few months prior, so we had a small crew and did constant temp/health checks). Our main actor got sick before our second weekend of filming and we had to re-write the ending. So although this film isn’t what I originally wrote or envisioned, the fact that we were able to finish it and even win awards shows how resilient I can be. Problem solving was huge in making this film happen, and I learned a lot directing.

I produced this film in 2021 with director Caleb Morgan in Montana. A dark comedy that will shock and disturb, but not without a laugh! Click the photo to watch the film!
